the easiest hard boiled eggs that aren't boiled

Hard boiled eggs are super simple with an instant pot. Ok, they were always super simple but using an instant pot just makes it seem better somehow.

I prefer a medium boil instead of a hard boil, but with an instant pot you can make it easily within 3-7 minutes.

It’s as simple as setting a metal trivet into your instant pot, laying the eggs down, and turning on the machine. No wasting time waiting for water to boil. No watching the eggs. No nothing.

They’re even easier to peel than any other trick I’ve tried. There is a small disclaimer to this. This week, I made them soft boil (kind of on accident) which made them harder to peel, I think. The medium boil is the best for the salads that I made last week.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water

  • 6-12 eggs

Directions

  1. place a metal trivet or egg holder in the instant pot

  2. add 1 cup of water

  3. place eggs into the instant pot

  4. Close the lid, close the valve, and cook on high pressure for 3-7 minutes

    1. 3-4 minutes for soft boil

    2. 4-5 minutes for medium

    3. 5-7 for hard

  5. Once the timer goes off, release all the pressure from the pot and use tongs to move the eggs from the pot to an ice bath to keep them from cooking more.

This is my go-to method for easy hardboiled eggs which goes great in everyone’s salads.
